The Brownstones at Decatur Grand Opening event on March 1 was a great success, with numerous brokers and buying parties coming to see our gorgeous townhomes in the heart of Atlanta. The event was a success not only because we were able to share the beauty of these amazingly low priced lender owned foreclosures with the public, but also because three of them went under contract that night. This leaves only eight of these luxury townhomes with prices starting in the $300,000s available.

FHA Mortgage costs are increasing in April
In GaHomeForeclosures’ effort to keep our buyers informed about the latest changes in home financing, we want to share some important information from preferred lender Gina Spearman at Academy Mortgage. This news has to do with an increase in the Annual Mortgage Insurance Premium for Fair Housing Administration (FHA) mortgages, which will become effective on April 9, 2012.
FHA loans are popular, especially with first time homebuyers, because they offer down payment assistance options and greater loan to value ratios than conventional loans do. These benefits come at the cost of having private mortgage insurance to reduce the lender’s risk for offering more money to help the borrower make the purchase.
The changes in the mortgage insurance rates essentially mean borrowers will be paying a slightly higher premium for FHA loans. This higher premium will be felt both up front and monthly over the life of the Read More→

Alicia talked about foreclosures in general, our wonderful Brownstone opportunities and her experiences as a Realtor in the Atlanta market. You can hear the interview above. Alicia starts by talking about her time as an agent and broker in Atlanta for over 20 years. She has become a foreclosure specialist and has been involved in ten thousand home transactions.
